About Kateb University

Kateb University according to the academic credit criteria of Ministry of Higher Education; It is the most prestigious university in the country. Currently, 3,844 undergraduate and 366 master’s degree students are studying in various fields. Over the past 12 years, more than 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students have graduated from the university.

Mission: Kateb University, as a scientific institution, tries to provide high quality education and research at national and regional levels, in addition to development of scientific and technical infrastructure, responses to job demands of country and provides an expand balanced higher education. 1- High employment rate among graduates:

Over the course of 12 years, more than 95% of these graduates have been able to find suitable jobs – with the knowledge and skills they learned during their studies – or are pursuing higher education. This indicator is a sign of the quality of teaching in accordance with the needs of the Afghan labor market in this university.

2- Obtaining national academic credit from Ministry of Higher Education

The official document of Academic Credit was given to Kateb University on 16/4/1398 by the Dean of Ministry of Higher Education, Abdul Talab Balakarzai. At the same time with the launch of the Quality Assurance and Credit Program at the Ministry of Higher Education, Kateb University was admitted in this program and successfully completed the various stages of accreditation by completing the quality assurance and accreditation criteria and on 3/2/1398 received the highest credit score (89.74%) among Afghan universities and was named the most prestigious university in Afghanistan.

3- Signing academic memorandums

Kateb University has signed valuable memorandums of understanding with universities, government agencies, educational, cultural and domestic research centers in order to improve the academic level of professors and students, using their knowledge, experience and facilities. These agreements provide good opportunities for the growth and development of Kateb University. In general, the focus of these agreements are in the following areas;

– Study opportunities to improve the knowledge and capacity of university professors

– Using scientific and research capacities and members of scientific staff

– Providing study opportunities

– Training and guiding human resources for government departments and ministries

– Providing internships for students

– Joint implementation of scientific programs and events such as conferences, congresses etc.

4- Research

The Scientific Research Management Department of Kateb University was established in 2009 in order to become a research-oriented university. The first Scientific-Research Quarterly of Economics was published in 2010 by this management.

Due to the necessity, importance and expansion of its field of activity in 2018, the Scientific Research Management Department of Kateb University promoted the Department of Scientific Research, which published more than 30 books by Kateb University professors, published 13 issues of the scientific-research quarterly and published 22 ISI International Articles in recent years.

5- Extracurricular programs to improve the capacity of students

Kateb University aims to enhance students’ capacity in the field of extracurricular activities (sports, arts, foreign languages, computers, etc.), empowering students by increasing knowledge and skills, cooperation in job search, increasing the level of origin and freshness and raising awareness, established Student Development Center for the first time among private universities in Afghanistan in 2014.

The center annually organizes more than 100 different sports programs, scientific seminars, empowerment and job search for Kateb University students.

6- Supporting the community; Kateb Legal Clinic

Kateb University Law Clinic was established in 2018 with the aim of teaching legal issues to the community, holding advocacy training courses for students and law graduates, and providing a lawyer (for free) for people in need in the community.

Since its inception, the Legal Clinic has provided legal services to 51 people in various cases:

From the beginning of its activity until now, Kateb Legal Clinic has provided advocacy trainin to 20 students and graduates of law.
