On June 18, 2019, a seminar on “Violence; Psychological Analysis” was held by the Law and Political Science Research Center in collaboration with Department of Political Science of Kateb University in the Conference Hall of Mater’s Branch.
In this seminar, Ali Shahidi, a researcher in evolutionary psychology and cognitive sciences at Norwich University in the United States, spoke about the phenomenon of violence with a biological and neurological approach. By listing the four neural currents as the roots of violent behavior (anger, fear, the search system, and a sense of dominance), he considered violence not as a static instinct but as a talented instinct. The seminar ended with the student’s questions that generally focused on the reasons of violence in Afghanistan which were answered by Mr. Shahidi.
