A four-day workshop on “Introduction to Genetic Counseling” was held

On December 2, 2018, Medicine of Kateb University held a four-day workshop entitled “Introduction to Genetic Counseling”. Genetic counseling workshop, which is the first workshop of its kind in this field, was held for the first time in Afghanistan at Kateb University and Medicine Faculty of Kateb University. Lecturers of this workshop were; Dr. Abbas Ali Ramozi, Head of Medicine faculty, Dr. Syed Hamis Mosavi, professor at Kateb University and Head of National Institute of special patients. This workshop was held in Central and Barchi Branch of Kateb University and was welcomed by other scientific centers in Kabul. Familiarity with base of genetic, genetic diseases, genetic trees drawing, invasive and non-invasive diagnoses and finally, new molecular techniques for diagnosing these diseases were among the most important topics in this workshop.
