Chancellor of Kateb University gave a speech at the opening of the internship program entitled Empowering Women in the Digital Age.

In this opening remark, Professor Ali Ahmad Yousufi, Chencellor of Kateb University, with introduction to the function of Kateb University in the field of digital technology, emphasized the role of universities in the production of science and technology and cooperation between universities and the government. He made a proposal for establishing cooperation between universities and the government, especially the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Assignment of responsibilities for building and supporting software applications of the Ministry of Communication, coordination and support of universities by the  Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to build and develop applications of other departments and ministries by country’s universities, identifying and supporting the creativity and innovation of universities in technology development, holding internship for students in a sustainable manner and collaborating with universities to update the educational curriculum and plan new educational programs tailored to market needs in Afghanistan was suggestions to Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.

Kateb University supports the policy of cooperation with the government and training skilled manpower for Afghanistan, as well as supporting graduate students in terms of learning practical training and increasing their ability based on the market needs.

This program was launched by the Department of Digital Skills Development of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in cooperation with the country’s universities with the aim of improving the technical and practical capacities of female students in the field of information technology and cooperation and starting cooperation with country’s universities. In this internship program, 50 female students will find practical training by working in the practical and technical departments of Afghan-Telecom Company in order to gain practical work experience in addition to theoretical knowledge and be prepared to enter the market needs.

Mr. Delbar Nazari, Minister of Women’s Affairs, Mr. Hadi Hedayati, Deputy Minister of Admission and Finance of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, presidents of private and public universities, students, participants of the 3rd ICPC Competition and women’s right activists attended the inauguration ceremony on December 12, 2019.

At the end of the program, the winners of the third round of ICPC Programming Competitions of Kateb University, which was held on Novermber 18 and 29, 2019 were honored and a memorial statue of “Faiz Mohammad Kateb” was awarded to Mr. Hadi Hedayati on behalf of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology by Professor Ali Ahmad Yousufi, the president of Kateb University.
