The coordination meeting was held for scientific and research cooperation between Kateb University and the United States Institute for Peace.

On Tuesday evening, July 23, 2019,  a coordination meeting was held for scientific and research cooperation between Kateb University and the United States Institute of Peace (USIP). In this meeting, Vice-Chancellor, Research Department and Applied Research Department of Kateb University met President and Senior Advisor of USIP and exchanged views. Dr. Mohammad Musa Jafari, Vice-Chancellor of Kateb University, while enumerating the various and potential areas of cooperation between the two institutions, pointed to the evolution of generations of peace studies and stressed the need for the participation of different parts of society, including universities and listed part of the mission of Kateb University. Mr. Ehsan Zia, President of the United States Institute of Peace and former Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, explained in detail the functions of the Institute of Peace and its cooperation with various universities in the country and welcomed future continuous cooperation with Kateb University. Dr. Mahdi Mohaqeq, Director of Research, and Mr. Mohammad Akbar Sarwari, Director of Applied Research at Kateb University, provided details on the performance of Kateb University in the field of research. Mr. Hamidullah Nateq, Senior Advisor of  the United States Institute of Peace. They described the institute’s activities in the field of peace education with a focus on universities and announced the tools of their desire to implement the peace education programs of Kateb University. Other issues such as the role of universities in achieving the goals of sustainable development, especially in the field of climate change awareness, were discussed during meeting. At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the implementation of several joint programs between the two institutions in the field of peace education and awareness.

USIP is one of the most prestigious international organizations in the world, which has a fundamental and influential role in the field of peace and law enforcement.
