Seminar on Women’s Empowerment

Kateb University is proud to host the seminar on 25th & 26th Dec, 2019.

Since health is a multidimensional issue; all aspects of personal, physical, psychological, spiritual, and general health in society must be taken into account when attempting to improve it. Accordingly, special attention should be paid to the health of women, who lay the basic foundations of the family and the central axis of health, growth, dynamics, and excellence of the family and society. Due to the sensitive role of woman and their very important position in the well-being of the family and society, caring and attention to her physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual needs is also important and requires more attention.

Women need serious support to fully promote the quality of life and health. There are two important points to be considered about the role and importance of women’s health: First, the relevance of women’s health to family and community health, and second, the importance of women’s health.

Studies have shown that maternal morbidity and mortality can have adverse effects on family health, and their disability and behaviors can affect all aspects of family health.

Reproductive health is one of the essential prerequisites for achieving sustainable development in today’s societies. According to the World Health Organization, Reproductive health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity, in all matters relating to the reproductive system and to its functions and processes.

By providing a wide range of health services, this category covers health throughout life (from birth to death) and aims to assist individuals and families in improving health, empowering women, increasing access to health care, maternal health and infants, infertility diagnosis and treatment, reproductive health education, menopausal health, elderly health, and generally, improving the health of all men and women with different conditions (age, religion, etc.).

Physicians should pay serious attention to reproduction and fertility – which is the principle of human survival and the right for women’s health, therefore fertility and childbirth are among the most important issues.

Hence, the Student Development Center and the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Kateb University in collaboration with Omid Social Association in pursuit of the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals, which leads to the strengthening and creation of a healthy society; will organize a seminar on “Women’s Empowerment”,  which aims to raise awareness among women regarding  “reproductive health”.

Lecturers of the event are Dr. Abbas Ali Ramozi, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences-Kateb University and Dr. Masoumeh Vaezi, member of the Faculty of Medicine – Kateb University.

The seminar will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, 25th & 26th December 2019 at (Qahraman-e-Karbala) mosque, First street of Shahrak-e-Safa, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
