A scientific seminar entitled “Indications and benefits of using ultrasound, echo and Doppler” was held on November 16, 2019 in the conference hall of Barchi branch by Medicine Faculty and Research Center. The purpose of holding this scientific seminar was to inform about the benefits of using ultrasound in patients, so that medical students can learn more about it and in the future to use these examinations correctly and effectively in diagnosing diseases in patients. The seminar was attended by Dr. Abbas Ali Ramozi (Head of Medicine Faculty), Ms. Hakimah Abdullahi (Director of Research Center), Dr. Mohammad Nasser Forotan and Dr. Mashal Iqbal Osmani, professors at Kabul University.
In the first part, the program began with the recitation of the verses of Holy Quran by Shukrullah Sarwari, followed by the playing of the national anthem. Professor Hakimah Abdullahi, Director of Research Centers, spoke about the importance of holding scientific seminars and students’ participation in these seminars, saying that medical students can participate in these seminars to enhance their information and abilities. She went on to talk about the plans of the Research Center of Kateb University, the publications of Kateb University and the projects of the Research Center, and that Kateb Research Center fully supports such programs and you are also asked to take an active part and cooperate in holding seminars and student conferences to conduct research at the university, especially during studies. Finally, she thanked Professor Naser Forotan and Professor Mashal Iqbal Osmani for their cooperation and their speeches.
Following the program, Dr. Abbas Ali Ramozi spoke about the program held with the cooperation of Kabul University professors, he acknowledged that holding such joint seminars can play an important role in improving in further cooperation of scientific institutions. He continued his speech by guiding the medical students to increase their scientific capacities by participating in such seminars, and without a doubt, these seminars will be of great help in providing services by students in the future. Then, Dr. Mohammad Nasser Forotan, a professor at Kabul University, began his speech. At first, he described the problems in the past and the lack of advanced services in diagnosing diseases as a huge problem, but now, with the introduction of the new advanced devices, the diagnostics have become very simple. Then, Dr. Mashal Iqbal Osmani, in the continuation of Dr. Forotan’s speech, pointed out some important issues, which can be referred to his speech in diagnosing patients in pregnant women and diagnosing patients in the mother in the womb. The seminar was ended with the speech of representative of the company of Sehat Andishan – an importing company of equipments.
