Webinar on “Corona, Safety and Society” was held.

Webinar on “Corona, Safety and Society” was held by Kateb Research Center and Faculty of Economics on Saturday January 2, 2021 from 1:30 to 2:30 through Zoom Conferencing Software.

In this webinar, Dr. Sayed Hamisd Mousavi head Kateb Research Center, Dr. Hussin Bayani Rad manager of Kateb Research Center were presenters and Mr. Zainab Taqadusi master of Sociology was the moderator of the webinar.

At the beginning of the webinar, Ms. Taqadusi started the webinar with the introducing

the presenters.

Dr. Sayed Hamid Mousavi talked about the various topics such as: Corona Situation in Afghanistan, Structure of Corona Virus, Transportation of Corona Virus to body cells, Preventing ways from Corona Virus, Life duration of Coran, health advises for preventing corona in mosques, health advises for preventing corona in public places, symptoms of Corona Virus, what should we do if we are suffering from asthma, kinds of sampling, ways of diagnosis and corona vaccine.

Then, Dr. Bayani Rad mentioned that the Corona Virus phenomenon is an objective manifestation of the definition of globalization and said that this epidemic effected all dimensions and aspects of human life. Afghanistan, a country that has always resisted globalization in the political, economics and more cultural sphere but in many ways follows global pattern, including lifestyle.

Dr. Bayani Rad stated that observations and objective facts in the context of the Corona crisis in Afghanistan showed that the traditional, modern and even religious structure of Afghan society could not function properly as expected.

Corona Virus had the following functions for Afghan society:

1- Afghanistan has a lot of young population and a large part of the youth population is of marriageable age and Corona taught that it is possible to get married at low cost, in peace and simplicity and without commotion and without competition.

2- Corona showed that social medias can increase the capacity for collective collaboration and even reproduce public happines.

3- Changes in health habits: if Afghan citizens can follow their health habits in the post-corona period, it will be great outcome.

4- Pointing out the weakness of the government in providing public health services:

Corona showed the weakness of the political structure and the government, which neither the university professors nor the members of the civil society and nor the civil protests could do.

The webinar ended with with Q&A session and with the warm welcome of participants.
