On Saturday, July 17th, 2021, the Business Administration Department of Kateb University, held a webinar on the “Role of Human Resources Management in Sustainable Development”. The presenter of this webinar was Mr. Mohammad Shaker Azizi, Head of the BBA Department and the moderator of this webinar was Mr. Jawad Ahmadi, faculty member of the BBA Department at Kateb University.
At the beginning of the webinar, Mr. Ahmadi talked about the 17 goals of Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) and the role of countries in achieving SDGs. Then, he talked about the 21st Century Agenda and introduced Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
Then, Mr. Shaker Azizi, the presenter of the webinar, talked about human resources, human resources management, sustainable development, and the development of counties. Mr. Azizi pointed to the conference which was held at Brazil and in which various topics were discussed. Among those various topics, three of the topics got the most attention of the leaders of countries and they are:
– Protecting the environment
– Economic growth
– Social growth
Mr. Aziz introduced sustainable development as:
“It is the process by which a country can have a sustainable future.” Then, Mr. Azizi said that sustainable development has changed to a global subject, and any country that wants a sustainable future must prioritize human resources.
In the continuation of the webinar, Mr. Azizi talked about the challenges of human resources management. He mentioned one of the challenges as the right using of power, skill, knowledge, and capacity of these human resources. Besides, he introduced human resources as “Taking advantage of human investments. These human investments can include skills, knowledge, capacity, and power.”
At the end of the webinar, Mr. Azizi highlighted the main solutions for government in the field of human resources management. These solutions are:
– Providing access to free education for everyone;
– Increasing the investment in society’s youth;
– Supporting the private sectors;
– Establishing prestigious universities, libraries, etc;
– Organizing education programs in the rural areas;
